Holy Week and Easter 2026
Holy Week marks the most special, and the most painful, week of the Christian year. We remember the events of the last week of Jesus' life, beginning with his triumphal entrance into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday to noisy, cheering crowds, through his last meal with his disciples, his agony and arrest in the Garden of Gethsemane, his trial and his crucifixion. There are, we discover, no heroes in this story... except for Jesus himself who, amidst chaos, lies and violence, walks calmly and with purpose towards the cross. Above all, this is a story of love - the love of the Father which overflowed in Jesus' life on earth, and the embracing of suffering and sacrifice by Jesus himself. And, of course, we discover in the end that love cannot die. On Easter Sunday we will celebrate the Resurrection. But first, we must walk the way of the cross - the way of suffering incomprehensible to the powers of the world but, to those who believe, the power and the wisdom of God.
"For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that all who believe in him should not perish but have eternal life." (John 3:16)
Please do join us for this journey to the depths of the sorrow and suffering of the world, and into the mysteriously even greater depths of the love of God.

We leave in silence, conscious of all that is to come. This service begins at 7.30pm at our Holy Trinity Site.
